The new head of the Channel Islands’ competition authority has been named, according to reports.
Michael Byrne will lead the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities after six months as the agency’s interim chief. Byrne follows former CICRA head Andrew Riseley, who left after two years at the position.
Brazil’s telecommunications regulator Anatel has reportedly approved of proposed rules for an upcoming spectrum auction, though details of those rules remain unknown.
The rules are set to be published shortly, however, and reports say the auction will likely begin in September.

Forbes Media announced Friday it has reached an agreement with a consortium of foreign investors who will acquire a majority stake in the company.
Hong-Kong based investor group Whale Media Investments will acquire the majority stake, after which current shareholder Elevation Partners will fully exit ownership in Forbes.
